Dear parents and children,
Happy Easter and welcome back, we hope that you all enjoyed the holidays. Heading into the final term of the academic year I am delighted to say that the pupils in Year 3 have all worked extremely hard.
During this term as you already know, the Year 3 team has grown even bigger and I am delighted to welcome Miss Ogden on board. Myself, Miss Ogden and Mrs. Nixon will be working together to ensure that every child is working extremely hard and most importantly, enjoying themselves.
In science this term, the children will be investigating different parts of nature and finding out what is required for things to live and grow. This will be an exciting topic with plenty of practical experiments for the children to get stuck into. I am excited to say that in History the children will be learning all about the Romans.
In preparation for both of these topics could I kindly ask the children to start bringing in any empty yoghurt pots and cardboard boxes from home? It will be most appreciated.
In maths and literacy, we will be focusing on the areas of work that require a greater depth of understanding in preparation for Year 4 and plugging in any gaps.
Homework will be sent out on a Wednesday as usual and will be expected to be handed in on the following Monday so that it can be marked. PE will remain on a Thursday and Friday; please can you make sure that your child has their full kit.
As ever, the Year 3 team looks forward to working along side you during this term. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
Kind regards, Mr. Acton, Miss Ogden and Mrs. Nixon
